The “MET”program for Gen Z Creatives in culture and art organized by curator and writer NanaBee and digital artist Louis K Wang (former professor at Pratt Institute in Manhattan), will be held annually in Beijing every summer starting in 2023. This art camp, codenamed “Metaverse Exploration Team” MET, aims to compare the value of digital and real-world cultural circles in contemporary art. Welcome young talents with creative mind and abilities in various fields of art to apply for participation.

“Civilization is enriched through communication and mutual learning.” The theme of each activity has been set. Nana Bee believes that the new generation of young people growing up in the digital age rely too much on Internet communication, are satisfied with online information, lack more real offline face-to-face interaction and cross-cultural life sharing experience, leading to real social conflicts and lack of practical experience of exploration and innovation. In order to enable this generation to learn better in the cultural and creative fields, young people with innovative abilities in art and design related fields can spend a meaningful summer through this activity. From the perspective of young people’s courage to challenge and innovate, candidates are fortunate to engage in creative exploration during field trips, improve themselves and practical skills, apply the knowledge learned in school to their careers, and develop their careers with useful knowledge.
Since its launch in 2023, the program has achieved good results and received attention and supports from government agencies and relevant units, becoming one of the key events for summer youth cultural exchange activities. In order to better serve the career development of young people through MET, Nana Bee invites scholars, experts, and their professional teams to provide assistance and support, and coordinates sponsorship with numerous enthusiastic business groups to make this unique cultural exchange, integration, and development momentum even stronger.

Online registration is open for every summer to young people with artistic backgrounds. The event is currently held only in the culturally vibrant city of Beijing, with a deadline of June 1st each year. Nana Bee hopes that all young creatives who love culture and art, care about high-quality digital content, or want to search for own poetry in journey from afar, can seize the opportunities provided by this new era to make the future of the metaverse more colorful and fulfilling.
The selected candidates will receive financial support, participate in on-site activities offline, and enjoy various benefits. If you are interested in this event and would like to learn more details, please visit here to learn more about the MET project.
